Unlocking Energy Savings: Discover the Resource Fair on Oct. 18
The Yolo County Sustainability Division is taking significant strides towards enhancing community resilience and promoting sustainability by hosting a free Energy & Resilience Resource Fair on Saturday, Oct. 18, from noon to 3 p.m. at the RISE Community Center, located at 17340 Yolo Ave. in Esparto. Funded in collaboration with Valley Clean Energy, the De Colores Resource Center, and Cool Davis, this family-friendly event aims to provide attendees with valuable resources to improve home comfort while saving on utility costs.
Essential Tools and Resources Await Attendees
Residents visiting the fair can expect to receive DIY Weatherization Kits loaded with supplies such as LED bulbs, weather-stripping, and insulation materials designed to enhance energy efficiency. As the temperature shifts, these kits become indispensable in managing energy expenses effectively.
In addition to these kits, attendees will receive expert advice on energy bills and home improvements while gaining insight from qualified contractors on how to save energy and money. Valley Clean Energy representatives will also be available to discuss the benefits of their FREE Electric Advisors Hotline, further simplifying the journey towards optimal energy use.
Preparing for Natural Disasters: A Crucial Component
With California's history of natural disasters, preparedness has never been more crucial. Visitors can gather vital information on how to prepare their homes and families for potential disruptions caused by wildfires, floods, and extreme weather. This segment of the fair aims to strengthen community resilience, echoing the core objectives of the Yolo Energy Partnership, a program dedicated to achieving carbon negativity by 2030.
Connect and Engage: A Community Focus
As part of the Yolo Energy Partnership, the fair doesn’t just focus on individual benefits; it fosters a sense of community engagement. Families can enjoy fun activities for all ages, ensuring that the event is not just informative but also a pleasant outing. Free food options will be available, enabling community connections to flourish.
In an era marked by a growing emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility, events like the Energy & Resilience Resource Fair demonstrate a proactive approach to integrating eco-friendly practices into daily living.
